Cheers2life and Guberti S.p.A.: more sustainable plastic from wine waste
Cheers2life has developed a new eco-compatible polymer partially derived from red wine waste. Last week, in collaboration with Guberti S.p.A., a leading company in the plastics processing sector, the industrial production process for the material was successfully tested.
This milestone marks a decisive step towards more sustainable plastic production and serves as a shining example of how scientific research and and experimental development can be transformed into tangible innovations for the industry.

The assignment of the UNESCO Chair Aid4GEA to Prof. Elisa Moretti represents a growth opportunity for Cheers2life. The Chair focuses on designing innovative materials and technologies for energy and environmental applications, helping to enhance Cheers2life’s visibility on the international stage. Founded to bridge academic projects and practical applications, Cheers2life is dedicated to upcycling and technology transfer for the sustainable growth of Italian entrepreneurship. This spin-off can thus strengthen its position in the sustainable energy sector, opening up new prospects for development and corporate collaboration.
SMAU PARIS 2023
Cheers2life makes its second appearance at SMAU Paris 2023, showcasing an innovative prototype of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC) that embodies the principles of the circular economy.
Our team has developed a meticulously designed device that repurposes agricultural waste from the wine industry to generate sustainable and renewable electricity. This cutting-edge product represents a modern, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly approach to energy production. Through our commitment to developing state-of-the-art photovoltaic panels, we aim to provide clients with solutions that deliver both economic value and environmental sustainability.
SMAU 2022
At SMAU 2022, we showcased our innovative low-environmental-impact polymer materials.
Using unused materials from the agri-food sector and the textile industry, we developed sustainable multifunctional polymer compounds.
These materials not only reduce the amount of plastic used but also represent revolutionary options for creating green-focused design objects or for applications in thermal insulation (appliances, green building, and any field requiring the final product to retain its insulating properties).
ANGI Award, 2021
On 1st December 2021 at the Ara Pacis Museum in Rome, the “Dream Team” of Italian innovator was awarded.
30 startups and business projects received the ANGI Award, now in its fourth edition.
This award is promoted by the National Association of Young Innovators with the high patronage of the European Parliament and the European Commission.
Among the various categories, our award was distinguished by the high technological and design value in the context of Energy and Environment.
SMAU 2021
SMAU, today the most structured Italian platform dedicated to innovation and startups, is divided into an annual Roadshow of local events, an international event in Milan, Paris, Berlin and London.
In the Italian edition of 2021, held on 12 and 13 October, we were selected among the best innovative startups to participate, with the ministerial funding of ICE (Agency for the promotion abroad and internationalization of Italian companies).
Vinitaly 2019
Event par excellence, Vinitaly has been, for 53 years now, a reference point for the meeting and discussion of the world of Italian wine, increasingly projected abroad.
In 2019 we were guests at the event where we presented the first cell prototype, a project funded by the European Social Fund.
